Shared files in XP
 

Running 2.4.3 in XP -- cannot get the program to select a sharing directory (doesn't see any files there). Downloading is fine, and all files put in shared, but library cannot see it.

Isn't the shared directory set as default during set-up? Is there a special way of selecting the shared directory? I've tried via the options menu etc..., but, as mentioned, it lets me go to the directory but doesn't allow me to select it (i.e. only 'cancel' seems to do anything).

Problem with XP compatibility?

Had to manually add (example)
DIRECTORIES_TO_SEARCH_FOR_FILES=C\:\\MP3;D\:\\MP3
in the limewire.props file as suggested by another thread.

Is this a bug with Windows XP or just with a few systems out there?

Did you just put C\:\\MP3 in the file, or the real directory you want to point to? (i.e. c\:\\My MP3s\mp3 or whatever) What op. sys. are you using?

I still have a problem with multiple directory searches (it only lets me do one source).

make sure your sharing and saving are directed to the same folder. Go to tools<option<saving or shared on your menu bar.
i use xp this worked for me

Yeah, no problem with the saving and sharing from the same directory (i.e. limewire/shared). Did you have any luck sharing files from different directories? Even sub-directories within limewire/shared are not shown for me, much less directories elsewhere on the drive.

Does it show up as shared files? I can see them in the library, but that's it...

It is not too big of deal, I suppose -- just means that I don't link to my full directory (just whatever I put in the shared folder w/o organization)

Have you been able to share files from your 'my music' directory? I cannot get the program to point to that directory (I type it in explicitly, but it says 'not able to save to this directory')...
