Same here - Javaw crashes when closing Limewire 2.4.3. I'm also running ME with the latest JRE (1.4 I think).

Javaw Error in Kernel32.dll

Sounds like something unique to Windows Me, which I'm also running...and experiencing the same error message at shutdown. Doesn't seem to effect the performance of Limewire, just a royal pain because the error message won't go away unless I reboot the machine.

Solutions can be emailed to dkkonefal@aol.com

you guys too? wow!

I've had this problem for a while (you can see all my other posts from "unregistered", they're the one's with 0 replies.) Except mine just closes limewire. So when I'm downloading some big file, I go in the other room to watch some TV, because watching the % bar go from 21% to 22% gets pretty dull. So I come back to check on old limewire, and it crashed, at 22%!! This has happened to me so many times it's not funny!! Well, it might be funny to you, but not to me. Also, it gets annoying even when I am sitting there, when I open limewire and I get the message:

Javaw has caused an error in jvm.dll
Javaw will now close

If you continue experiancing problems,
Try restarting your computer

And no one will help me...

Limewire crashes windows ME on closing

Yep,

I have the same problem: when I close Limewire, it crashes. I have installed JRE v 3 and 4. So I have uninstalled Limewire. Pity, it is a fabulous interface. I will use it again when this problem is fixed.

Post the info about Windows ME crash

Someone who has the latest Limewire should post the wording of the error message(s) that come up when closing Limewire under Win ME. I have unistalled LImewire and I don't want to have go through the trouble of reinstalling it again (for the tenth time!). It might help the Limewire people to solve the problem.

javaw error in KERNEL32.DLL

I have the same problem. Up to now I was using Limewire 1.7 with windows me, with no problems. Last week I have reformated my system and installed the new limewire 2.4.4 and this error occurs. My system was clean, no problems at all.
It happens when I close limewire.

Also because of this problem, it seems that some file associations get screwed up. The icons don't represent the files, surely because of the restarts.

Any suggestions?

(Pity because I like the new version so much I was thinking of upgrading to Limewire Pro)

Per the message above, the exact language of the error message is as follows:

Javaw has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL.
Javaw will now close.

If you continue to experience problems,
try restarting your computer.
