Windows Poll

Hi,

Since different versions of Windows have different issues with LimeWire, I'd like to know what version of Windows is most popular with LimeWire users, and which version users find the most problematic.

Thanks!

Just as an FYI - Have two Windows 2000 Pro and one Windows 98se machine here. I have at one time or another used Limewire on all of them although one of the WIn 2K machines is my current primary box.

I'll FYI too...

I'm running limewire on a windows 2k server ..... on another win2k server I run Kazza Lite (you know ... the one w/o the spyware) ... on the linux box I'm running limewire, but i dont know enough about linux to get it to work right in general ... lost cause (I just dont get it  ). and my wonderful wife used to use audiogalaxy .... thank god for the T1. At any rate ...... since the other bobo named person shared .... I thought I might as well.

By the way ... dont mean to nitpick ... but I didn't even know that there was a Windows 2000 Home edition. News to me.

W2k Professional. No connection problems.

ISTM that a lot of the connection problems come from XP home users (my own experience leads me to dislike XP home with a vengeance).

I would say that most people running W2K or XP Pro are likely to know what they are doing and stand a much better chance of overcoming problems without needing help (Quite aside from the operating systems being better than 95/98/ME/XP home).

It doesn't help that XP home hides the filing system so that many people have little or no idea that it exists (hence many "where are my files" complaints). - There is a strong argument for moving the default save and incomplete folders out of the Program Files hierarchy (in my opinion, only programs should go under there - not data).

Windows 2k server.
But I'm not sure if the functionality of Limewire depends on
what Windows version you run but rather on which JRE you have... how come I think that?

MS Windows Implementation

I run 4-6 Implementation of LimeWire

2 on Windows NT 4.0
2 on WIndows 98
1 on Windows 2000 Professional
1 on Windows 2000 Server

No problems with any of these implementations.

"Win 2K home removed."

You know, there is a Windows 2000 Home Edition. Saw it on the Microsoft Website.
