Newbie Search Question

I'm totally new to the world of MP3, but I'm having fun working on a project for my parent's 50th anniversary, and I've downloaded some files - very cool!!

The problem I'm having is that I'm looking for a song who's title ("More") is a common word in other song titles. (It was recorded by several easy-listening type artists of the 50's-70's like Andy Williams.) Is there a way to narrow things down so I only get the title "More", and not a thousand other songs with "more" in the title?

Thanks!

Laura

Thanks - I did this, but it didn't really help all that much. I thought maybe putting "More" in quotes would help, but that didn't work.

Funny about "heart" - can you imagine what "love" would do?

Hello!

Which artist you are looking for?

Are you absolutely sure that it was called just "More"?

The only song that I can find with just More in the title and nothing else is a song by the artists The Crystal Method.A search in the CDDB database did not return any song with just the word More instead I got over 47000 hits with the word more in the title but not as a stand alone word.

Have the song you are looking for been re-recorded onto CD?

If not then it migh be extremely hard for you to find it as an mp3 song.

Yes, that's definitely the name. It was recorded by Andy Williams, Perry Como, Roger Williams, and a lot of others. I have seen it on mp3 play lists while searching the net (without LimeWire) but I can't seem to find the file itself.

For example, this site:

http://www.nurple.com/music/mp3.html

Lists the file, and then suggests using LimeWire (among other software) to access it. But I can't figure out how to zero in.

Thanks!

Hello!

Yes you are correct the song is acctually named More and performed by Andy Williams.I think it was the theme song for the movie Mondo Cane.

To find it do a search using the string Mondo Cane and you will probably find what you are looking for.I did 17 searches before I found it myself so it is kind of rare but it is there. And it will be even harder for you to find if you are on a modem(I have a high speed ADSL connection).I just downloaded it so it will be available from me for a few days before I remove it just so that you will have yeat another location to download it from.If you are unable to find it then continue searching and eventually you will find it.

Wow - you're a genius! How did you figure it out? I've never heard of "Mondo Cane"!

I did find a Frank Sinatra version that I don't much like, so I'm still trying to find yours. I really appreciate it!

And you're right, I'm on a modem. :-( I live in weird area where if you go 3-4 miles in any direction you can get ADSL, but not here.

Thanks so much -

Hello!

You are Welcome!

I will keep it up for you to download!

Let me know when you have downloaded it!

Well after I downloaded it I out of curiosity listened to it and my mom heard it and told me about the movie that that song was in(She had just watched it on tv).So I searched for Mondo Cane on IMDB and found out that Mom was right.

My file is named Andy Williams-More(Theme from Mondo Cane) so that is the one to search for.

Argh - why do my searches keep coming up empty? Any tips for me?

Hello!

So you are still having trouble finding the file.Well it is typical just when you want something really bad it just wont show up.I guess that your horizon is a bit small and that is why you have such a big difficulty finding it.The tip provided by Peerless is a great one and I use that technique alot.

But to make it easier for you I have put the file up on one of my personal filesharing websites for you to download directly so no need to search for it anymore. After all you have to make that project for your parents birthday. Here it is:

http://homepage.mac.com/netfox100/FileSharing1.html

It is named Andy Williams-More and then some strange numbers.

If you have trouble execute the file after it has been downloaded then just tell me and I will make a new copy in a different format.

I HAVE IT!!!!! WOW - thank you SO much! This is going to totally make the whole presentation for my parents - it is perfect. I now have all the songs I wanted (and that was the most important one), and we're starting to put the photos and music together.

I really can't thank you enough for taking the trouble to help me out!!!

Thanks, and thanks again -

Laura
