I think this is all related to the kernell32.dll thread. Folks have problems after shutting down LIMEWIRE.
So far no on in limewire has proposed an answer.
Pass the buck is the way it seems to be going.

Our software is platform independent. If you get OS level errors like this, there is essentially nothing we can do. The makers of the OS, chips and Java need to address this.

Do you by chance have an AMD chip?

Thanks

javaw error

My brother has this problem on his Gateway (Win 98 Pentium 3)

Very disappointing, since Limewire runs great on my iMac.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

It has been suggested that the just released Java2 1.4.1 (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/) may fix this problem.

This is apparently a video driver problem - updating or changing your video driver and/or DirectX may help - as may reducing your video accelleration.

I'm only passing on what has been reported elsewhere in the forums.

I too get an error message when I shut down the new version. I also click to close the error box but it doesn't close. I have to manually shut my computer down. I did this twice. I have the older version back on fine and no problems. Hey guys! Hoping for a version with the bugs worked out!
