I cant hear music. the file will download, and when I click on it to play it it acts like its playing but I dont hear a thing

Have you got some speakers? Have you turned them on? Have you plugged them in?

Presumably you can hear sound from other applications - so how are you trying to play files? If you are using the internal player - have you tried using an external player?

Perhaps you might give us a clue be letting us know what operating system? what player? what LimeWire version? What type of file? What player? etc.
