_JVM_SupportsCX8@0 I use Limewire 2.44 Pro and Windows XP Home Edition with a DSL modem. It worked well until I installed and used eDonkey2K. Now I get the following error message when I start Limewire: "The procedure entry point _JVM_SupportsCX8@0 could not be located in the dynamic link library jvm.dll" I uninstalled and reinstalled Limewire and still get the same error message. Is there a way to get Limewire running again? |

New Problem I fixed the problem that was giving me the error message above. I reinstalled jre-1_4_0-win.exe and then reinstalled Limewire. My problems might have been due to updating Netscape to version 7.0. I think it updated Java during the upgrade. Now I'm seeing something that I've never seen before. I'm getting a lot more than the 3 hosts I specified. I have three Ultrapeer connections so maybe I'm seeing 0.6 and Leaf connections that normally don't appear. I've never seen anything but Ultrapeer connections before. Is this a problem? |

Near the bottom of that image (just below the "add" and "remove" buttons) it says 'Ultrapeer'. You are running as an ultrapeer rather than a client. Some of the clients are other ultrapeers - most are leaves - single users connecting through you to the gnutella network. LimeWire decides whether to make you an ultrapeer based on your bandwidth and the demand for an ultrapeer. If you wish - you can disable yourself as an ultrapeer through Tools|Options|Speed|Disable ultrapeer capabilities. As an ultrapeer, some of your bandwidth is taken up with managing the network and passing messages. You also get to see more information and probably have better search results. So - this isn't a problem, it is working as designed. Mark |
