Same scenario, same problem - Win 98 w/all updates, Java, LimeWireWin international version 2.7.3, and setup settings don't get preserved, even after uninstalling/reinstalling. I uninstalled 2.7.3 and went back to 2.6.5, which seems to work more reliably.
