Player jumps from title to title without playing

I installed 2.8.5 Pro a couple of weeks past, and it worked fine at first. I've been mad busy at work lately, and haven't used it much. I go into my Library and copy all my songs to the playlist. When I click on play, each song title is highlighted for about a second, then it goes to the next song, ..., but never stops to play a song.

Is this a known bug?

Uhm. Do I have to log a bug against this bug not getting attention? WTF? I paid for this s/w, I would appreciate a little service.
