I recently purchased Limewire 2.8.6 Pro and am cannot get it to use the options I set. I searched the forums and found a post about the .limewire folder and changing the limewire.props folder to a file.

However, that is not the problem . . . limewire.props is being saved as a file. I am saving my options using the "apply" and "OK" buttons.

I tested to see if the file was being updated by saving my options a few times and then checking the limewire.props file date and time. Each time the file was saved when I clicked on "OK".

The problem is that Limewire is not able to find my limewire.props file when it opens. Instead it opens with default settings.

I am using Win98 SE and have installed Limewire in a non-default location on my "E" drive rather than in the programs directory on my "C" drive. And yes, my "E" drive is a physical drive, not a RAM drive.

For a further test I moved the .limewire sub-directory from my Windows directory and then restarted Limewire. Sure enough it recreated the .limewire sub-directory in my Windows directory.

Anyone know what is going on? Could this be due to Limewire not being able to detect that it is not installed in the default "Programs" directory?
