My Computer Has Been Hijacked! - Java.Lang.NoClassDefFoundError

I installed Limewire (latest version - 7.4.262.0) on my windows XP system and, although Limewire functions fine as far as file transfer is concerned, every time my computer starts up, I get the error message "Java.Lang.NoClassDefFoundError ". I uninstalled and reinstalled Limewire, but I still get this error message. Further, I can't uninstall Limewire Shop as, when I click on its icon in Add/Remove Programs, I simply get that same error which, of course, makes me suspect that it is somehow related to the problem.

Note that, although a search of these forums by java.lang revealed several posts, these refer to "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException" or, in any case, describe different situations.

Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Stevo--I've had the same message (non-fatal) installing the new beta versions on Mac OSX. The developers are aware of it, but LW is working fine so far. I'd guess it has to do with non-US English settings. So . . . don't mess further with your system?

Here's what I get:
class com.limegroup.install.SettingsTranslator.install() Unexpected Fatal Error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/java/util/collections/Set
at com.limegroup.install.SettingsTranslator.install(S ettingsTranslator.java:31)

Fixing anoying error message

I had this problem and i just fixed it.

1. unistall limewire.
2. install the newest java from sun.
3. install the international version of limewire.
4. click on run in the start menu
enter "msconfig"
then click the startup tab
uncheck anything that has limeshop or limewire in the
description.
then restart the computer. that shoud fix the anoying error
messages. since it will not look for limeshop at start up.
