Win XP always crashes on exiting Limewire

I just upgraded to Limewire 3.2 (paid version) which load ups and seems to work well until I exit Limewire. On exiting Limewire, the computer immediately crashes and reboots as if the reset button was pushed. This ALWAYS happens on exiting Limewire. I do not have problems when running other programs.

I previously used Limewire version 2.8.6 (paid version) which worked fine and did not cause this problem.

I have Java SE 1.4.1_01 and home version of Win XP.

Can anyone help me with this problem.

Thanks,

Hector

Try playing with your Shutdown settings in LimeWire. - If you are using a laptop try adjusting the advanced power management settings.

I've tried all 3 Limewire shut down options however the problem persists. A crash occurs that immediately reboots the computer. I also tried "disconnecting" prior to exiting Limewire but that didn't help.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hector

Sorry, I forgot to mention the computer is NOT a laptop, and I don't use power management.

Java 1.4.2

May I suggest you to install the latest Java 1.4.2 at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html ? At the very least it should make LW faster....

Re: Java SE 1.4.2

Many thanks for the suggestion et voila!!

I uninstalled Java 1.4.1 and installed version 1.4.2 after which the problem went away. Plus, Limewire does seem to load up a tad bit faster. Must be some obscure fix in the Java upgrade.

Thanks to all that took the time to reply!

Hector
