YOUR FAULT

Just because YOU don't have java doesn't mean LimeWire stinks. You haven't even used it! And you don't even have a virtual machine? Did you say in all the other programs forums that needed java that they stunk too? You probably did! Just go to some site like microsoft.com and GET a virtual machine. Maybe when you USE LimeWire you'll have the right to an opinion on it.

It's the JDK

We apologize to Wi***/98/ME users who are having problems. We tried to upgrade to Java 1.3 in this release. That will make things a lot faster and more reliable in the long run, but is has proven more difficult than we anticipated. For example the JDK seems to just randomly crash on Win98.

In the meanwhile, we have made LW 1.4b available from our website. I hope this makes things work for you.

Is it JDK or Memory?

How many people have had it randomly blowing up on Wi***/98/Me?

If it did, how much memory do you have?

I have been running this now on Wi*** and it is fine. I could see people with 64meg or less potentially having problems - that was more standard back in the days of 95/98.
