Limewire disappears

Just installed 1.5 on a Win98 2nd Edition, 1GHz Athlon/Tbird with 512 MB Ram.
When I start Limewire it will run for 3-6 minutes and then disappear. No error messages. If I was lucky enough to have been downloading and I restart the file will resume if the host is still available.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks

I'm glad this thread exists. My LimeWire is never connected anymore. I thought the product was wonderful for about a week. Then it stopped working. I press "Connect", walk away for an hour and when I return it's still not connected.
If there's a problem with the system, I wish they'd post it on the website so users don't freak out.

I'm having the same problem. I'm using win98se, I was able to download yesterday when I first installed 1.5 but today the program just dissapears when I attempt to search or download. It crashed my system once. I have the latest virtual machine

I have the same problem. Limewire just disappears with no error message. The icon appears in the task bar but as soon as the cursor is moved there it also disappears.
Why all the fuss about the Java problem which is so easily corrected but no comments about this? Is this one of the reasons 1.5 was taken down?
Later Scrappy ;)

Same problem here

Here we go again -> I have exactly the same problem... (maybe I shouldn't even post this message here). After a few minutes, or sometimes even after a few seconds, LimeWire shuts down without an error message. It's really frustrating, because if you're searching for a file the program just dissapears into thin air (over and over again aaaaaaaah). I don't think I can blame Windows 98 for this...

In the LimeWire folder several log-files are created - they are all reporting errors like this:

An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.

I hope this problem can be resolved - because LimeWire's definitely a great prog to use...

Yet another vanishing limewire

Same problem that has been mentioned many times already. I run limewire. Then, within anywhere from 30 seconds to about 10 minnutes the program completly goes away without any kind of error message. For the time it stays on it works fine.

Are you firewalled?

To all you Win98 users having problems with the disappearing LimeWire: Are you firewalled? Do you ever see incoming connections from your Connections tab?

Are you firewalled

I have personally had quite a number of incoming connections. There have been times when it starts and runs for almost 10 minutes and allows me to do searches, downloads etc.Yes I see connections in the connections tab. If LW disappears during a download I can restart LW and the download will resume if the host is still available. I have Win 98 a cable modem on the @home network.
Later ;)
