LimeWire 1.5
 

I'm a new user and I was reading the associated problems under the heading "limewire 1.5". I downloaded limewire 1.5, everything loaded fine(no problems). When completed, a limewire icon (plug) appeared on my desk top. I was connected to the internet the whole time, before and after installation. I clicked on the limewire shortcut, i also went into the system and clicked on the exe file but nothing happened. Wierd. When I clicked on the Icon, it seemed to be looking for the program, but quit in a second or two. Kinda like I never even tried to start the program. I get nothing. no error messages, no boxes, no nothing. I just sit there and watch my screen go into screen saver mode (10 min setting). I also have napster on my computer. I remember when loading napster, they had something come up in the set up about a default port number, but nothing came up about the port number, 6??? on your system. Maybe a problem? Just grabbing at straws. If you have any ideas, it would be appreciated.

There is a Wi***, Win98 and WinMe problem with the final version of 1.5 that we shipped. Sorry for the screwup.

seems to explain a fix to the shortcut on your screen (basically, you can take "system/" out of your shortcut by getting the shortcut properties and changing it).
