Uninstall

I have the basic version installed on XP and it makes my machine run so slow I cannot even use it. Limewire isnt even running nor is the java console but then they run in the bg they kill everything. I have a fresh low level format and was installing one app at a time to figure out what was making it so slow, and now I know.

How do I uninstall limewire, limeshop and the java console? Thanks!

I sirously doubt that LW is makeing Your computer run slowly. Your harddrive might be almost full. One way to reduce the used space is to do a disk clean up and/or a defragment. You could uninstall the programs that you no longer use(control panels>add/remove programs. Good luck.

Here is what I did... used a win98 boot dik and did a low level reformat, master boot record format and re-installed a fresh, custom copy of XP with only the services I needed. I knew something was making it run slow before, so I installed one app a day and ran them, tested it. When it came to limewire/limeshop and the java console, I installed them and instantly my box was running slow, something was killing the memory useage. I just figured out how to get all three uninstalled and guess what, my box is haulin *** again. Dont get me wrong, I love limewire and it runs great on my dell laptop, but this dell 2800mhz box just doesnt like it, sorry. It is probably more the java virtual machine that LW but thats the reason to have one or the other for me so I iced them all.

What can I say? LW has a different affect on everyone's computer. As long as it works for you.
