I Found Way To Uninstall Limeshop Legit After searching for a couple minutes, I realized that I was not the only one unable to easily uninstall this "Limeshop" (hey, I didn't even know what it was at first). After a minute of browsing the registry, I found the solution. It's a "faulty" registry key. Go to run and type "regedit" to open the registry. Search for lime or limeshop until you find a folder called limeshop.xml (It should like this) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\limeshop.xml There's a key called "UninstallString" You know what that's supposed to do, but if you look carefully, you'll realize that key is way too long and actually repeats itself... so just delete the chunk off the end thats repetition, I believe you should start deleting right before the lp part before the last set of quotes. I can't be more specific because mine isn't there anymore. If you're scared or a noob, just take off one little chunk at a time and keep trying to run the uninstaller from the control panel/add-remove program menu. It should do the the little wizard thing with the progress bar and poof! ALL GONE! |
Mess with the regrestry all you want. Since I have used PestPatrol to get rid of it I don't need to do any risky regrestry editing. Note to all unexpierinced users: if you do not know what you are doing do not edit the regrestry. Entering unvalid values can cause your computer to become unbootable. Editing the regristry is not reccomendable without proper knowledge. deepblue |
Yea, the deepblue dude's gotta point, I assumed people would know to delete the repeated part of that one registry key, but I guess it's possible to screw that up.. I've never had any problems myself and I like to play with anything and everything on my computer, but maybe I'm just lucky. I hadn't seen that PestPatrol program mentioned in any posts and from the way people were talking, it was as if no way existed to truly get rid of that little sucker. My way makes it uninstall like it's supposed to (including removing it from the add/remove programs menu, altho deepy's way may be safer. As deep said, I will recommend that you at least have a tiny bit of knowledge of the registry before trying to mess with it. |
