Latest version locks up Windows 98se I downloaded the latest version of "free" limewire yesterday and noticed later on that everything would slow to a crawl and I would get messages about not enough memory/resources to open a window, etc. That generally hasn't been a problem before. Tried restarting several times and that seemed to help for a while each time, but eventually everything would get bogged down again. I'm running Windows 98SE with 192 MB RAM. Today I noticed the same slow down problem and I hadn't started limewire at all. But hitting ctrl-alt-delete to open the "end task" window showed several things running but also showed "limeshop" listed at least a dozen times!! I have since removed all traces of limewire and limeshop and everything seems to be running smoothly so far. |
Unfortunately I can't upgrade... it's a computer that I use at work! ;) However, I did download the free version of Limewire for Windows 98 again and the Limeshop problem hasn't reappeared yet. The Limewire folks must have corrected that little bug! |
