burning a cd

I have LimeWire, I've downloaded some mp3 [classic music] files and I want to burn to cd. I have Roxio and CdDoctor. But I can't figure out how to get the files from LimeWire to the Cd burner! I also don't know how or where files are saved. I keep trying to figure out where they go. help!

First, try using Find or Search in Windows...
Either enter for your search the title of the file or just the extension .mp3...

Then... You normally launch the burner program and from IN the burner program you select the files you wish to burn - either from a list of suitable files that the burner program has automatically searched for on your hard disk or by you doing a Browse for the files you want - All this will happen IN the burner program.
In other words, you do not send files to the burner program, it finds them either automatically or when you tell it to.

I haven't used Roxio CDCreator for a while, but that is the way it used to be and the way most burner programs are.

If you are new to all of this and have a CD-ROM drive that is able to write to CD-RW disks (RW=ReWriteable), than I suggest you practice first with CD-RW disks only... Saves you money ! (Unless you would like to collect 'coasters' and make pretty mobiles and lamp shades out of dead CDs ! Lethal frisbees, too !!!)

Suggestion Dept: Try NERO CD Burning also...

Main thing is just too practice and also Become Familiar with your Windows Operating System before you waste any money on making 'coasters' !

It ain't 'rocket science'... It only seems that way in the beginning ! ;)

Thank you, Ursula

It worked! I have not had much experience using the Search feature on my Start menu. It is really powerful. I just dragged and dropped one of the files I downloaded last night and am playing it with MusicMatch JukeBoxPlus. It sounds just beautiful. I hope someday I know enough to be able to help other 'newbies.'

Great !

btw - I was also going to make a strong recommendation that you get MMJukebox... Buy it, even !!! Best value software out there.
One of the very few worth paying for and cheap even if it was 3 times more money !

(I didn't mention MMJ cuz I didn't want to overload you too early !) ;)

Hey !

If you already have MMJukebox you're doing all right !

Mind the 'coaster' collection growth !!!

Have fun...

MMJ is not without difficulties

I have had MMJ for several months and I did upgrade for $20 to the JukeboxPlus--However, all has not been great. It had a bunch of bugs--screen breaking up mostly and I tried their tech support, with modest success. Then I downloaded a new version and things really went to pot. Finally, one of their better techs, suggested I just go back to a clean copy of the first Plus program. It works and that's where I am. I am irritated that nobody told me I would only get one hour of CD quality radio play--that wasn't ever advertized. But even the low quality is good. To their credit, they have admitted that they have bugs. Thanks again.
