Default Limewire won't even start up

I have been using Limewire at home for months now without a hitch. I recently had some problems with an annoying spyware program (cool web search for any interested) and had some challenges trying to get rid of it. Since I got rid of it, I was unable to get Limewire running again. Uninstalled and reinstalled both Limewire (most recent english version - even tried international version) and Java Runtime Environment. Program installs w/o problems but will not start...from desktop, start menu...nowhere. Not having any probs w/internet, but some other games I've reinstalled will not run either. Did try to run Imesh and it seems to run fine...would hate to have to go back to Kazaa...gave me a lot of spyware problems...help!

If you are worried about spyware/adware iMesh is about the worst P2P you can download. It's totaly overrun with bugs. PestPatrol found over 300 with the first scan. It could be your computer can you give me some specs on it?

Yes, although I think that PestPatrol is very good you have to set it so that it won't tag P2P apps. and files. It's a small set-back but I can deal with it. But I have downloaded iMesh and it really is overrun with "crap-ware".

Have you ever used PestPatrol, Ursula? I have used Ad-Aware, Spy Killer, and a few others, and I have found that PestPatrol is among the best. It works for me, I hate argueing about this type of software, post what you want, but I'm getting out before the flames start up. Sorry for starting this.
