After installing limewire and some codecs, my internet and email have slowed down considerably. Anyone know why or how I can fix it?

I'm using internet explorer and outlook express. I already ran a repair on IE and it helped a little -- but it is nowhere up to its usual speed.

Any suggestions or fixes?
