Saving Options

I have just started to use LimeWare 4.0.5 anf I have found that there is no way to save my options, i.e. filtering out unwanted files, limit my uploads and downloads, etc.

Is there anyway to save my options in LimeWare Basic or must I purchase LimeWare Pro to obtain this facility?

Go to Tools>Options

Dear Kath W

Thank you for your reply but I think you have missed my point, I have gone to Tools>Options but when I do set my preferences in Options there is no way to save them.

For example, I set the filter to exclude *.scr, *.com, *.exe files, etc, but when I exit Options and then check back a minute later I find that my amendments are gone and the default settings are back.

Unlike other applications, there are no "Save", "Apply" or "OK" buttons on the LimeWare Options facility, therefore how do I save my Option amendments?

If there is something (obvious) that I am missing then please let me know.

Thanks in advance

UK Bob

Dear Kath

Once again, I thank you for your efforts but I already have a print out of the "User Guide"and it did not help.

This is a known bug wich should have been fixed.

Unable to Save Options

I am somewhat stunned that this known bug of over six months, i.e. no "Save", "Apply" or "OK" buttons in the Options facility, has not been fixed yet.

I use LimeWare 4.0.5 and I cannot save my Options, the work around mentioned for earlier versions are not available now and the major bug, the ability to save your preferences, is still outstanding.

I can only imagine that there must be some sort of registry setting that may allow "options" to be saved.

Does anyone out there know what it is.

Have you tried uninstalling, downloading the latest version again and do a reinstall ?

I have downloaded the latest version of LimeWare but I installed it over a version I downloaded two days before, you see I have the latest version of this product.

However, I have noted in the "user guide" that there are no (Save/Apply/Cancel/OK) buttons in the "Options" facility which seems to point to that it should save on exit, but does not.

Rather than go through a a full uninstall and reinstall, unless I really have to, there should be a a registry setting that I can amend to get Options to save on exit.

I don't know if it could be solved with registry settings, it could be a GUI problem as well.

So in order to prevent that some bad settings are not overwritten, I think it is better if you do a complete clean reinstall.

You might even do a windows search after uninstalling to check if some folders still exist and delete manually if a clean install does not help.

Thanks Raaf

I shall do a complete uninstall and reinstall if I cannot find another solution.

I still think there must be a registry setting that will allow "Options" to be saved on exit.

Either that or LimeWare should have "Save" and "Cancel" buttons in the "Options" facility.
