Limewire crashes with no error msg

I can connect and files will download but everytime limewire crashes anywhere between 60 seconds and 5 minutes. No error messages just gone. I'm running windows 98 se, 128MB ram, amd athlon k6 2, voodoo 3 2k. Any help would be appreciated.

nm it was norton anti virus that was causing it to crash, feel free to delete this thread

I've been having this problem as well but I don't use Norton Anti-virus. Limewire will startup, connect, and run for a while without any problems. After running for a couple of minutes, Limewire will cause my computer to lock-up and then nothing will work until I manually restart my computer. I've also had this problem with Morpheus and, just recently, Shareaza. If anyone has any suggestions, I would welcome them with open arms.

yeah apparently it wasn't norton anti virus because it still closes without error after several minutes. back to kazaa :(

You know, instead of using Kazaa, I've found this program that works just fine for downloading. It's called Shareaza and it doesn't seem to be affected by what is shutting down Limewire and Morpheus. It can even connect to Limewire users for downloads. While it still may crash on occassion, I've found that the program will stay active more often than not. You should give it a try; at least until Limewire can fix it's problem.

Thank you, I'll check it out.

Good news, Limewire doesn't crash anymore. For some reason it just magically stopped and has been running fine for the past 4 days. So if anyone else has the same problem with limewire crashing just keep trying!

LW "dont upload and download at the same time"
i had this prob for a long time but not any more, when downloading cancel uploads, go to tools/options click on uploads then slots, put in zero's to stop uploads from your computer but dont forget to reset afterwards so other peers can download your files. i did this and it resolved the problem, you can also reduce the amount of bandwidth in uploads and try that.
good luck

Sorry, but it is apparently slower at searching for things... Tried that moths ago... lousy... but can cope from limewire users. download speed? Sukky
