Question Problem deleting files....

Every time I try to delete a file when LimeWire is open I get that stupid "File is being used by a program" error.

So when i close LimeWire down completely and go into the directory on my harddrive that I want to delete the from, THEN it deletes... and So i'm assuming that the file is being used by LimeWire??? NO- the file is not in the MP3 playlist.

Is there a way to fix this?

Oh nuts i forgot this stuff:

Your Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition
„h Your version of your Gnutella Client: I dont know. Do you mean LimeWire? Latest.
„h Your Internet connection (56K, Cable, DSL): 56K
„h The exact error message, if one pops up: The "File is in use by another program" one.
„h Any other relevant information that you think may help: N/A
„h Try to make your post descriptive, specific, and clear so members can quickly and efficiently help you : I think i did.

Ok now I registered.

When I close down and restart LimeWire, then the file deletes.

I've waited almost 24 hours for a reply. If you have any idea why I can't delete files after I preview them, please reply ASAP. I need songs FAST, and that's why I got limewire.

It depends on what file your trying to delete. If you're deleting the temp file used for the preview then ensure that the viewer used to launch the file is closed.

If you're trying to delete the actual file since you don't like what you see / here then make sure that you kill the download first from the Search Tab.

Other than that it could be if you have partial file sharing enabled as mentioned before. So check to see if another user is downloading it.

For what's worth IHIH.
