192.168.*.***:**** is showing up alot...but isn't helpful Why is it that when I click Browse Host Limewire tries to browse a host with an ip of 192.168.*.***:****, which, of course doesn't work! I have that as an internal ip, can limewire detect my external one that would actually work as a browse host? My internal ip is: 192.168.1.100:6346, but my external one is 6*.10*.5*.*:6346, does limewire know this? Can people browse my files? Every client I have tried COULD detect your true external ip address, does limewire? Am I one of these 192.168.*.***:**** people that cannot be browsed? Cannot be chatted with? How do I set my external ip in Limewire so I can avoid this whole mess? Thanks in advance! |
ps I am not firewalled for all those who are concerned, just behind a router and a software firewall, both perfectly configured. |
I can browse 192's, such as others on my LAN (and sometimes 10's)--but rarely. If the upload slots are filled, no browsey, for example. Still trying to figure out all the variations, but I can't yet predict when browse host will work. For example, I can browse another on my LAN from the search results, but not (currently) from the uploads list. Gotta figure out the new bug reporting system http://www.limewire.org/jira This applies to chatting too.
