Java Run Time
 

You may have already taken this route, but just in case, here's what may be your problem. I downloaded Java direct as well, and Limewire was unresponsive at first; what you have to do is run the Java (double-click on the icon) to get it going, at which time Limewire will recognize its presence. Until you install the downloaded Java, Limewire continues to act as though it's not even there.
