help me please

if you can help me, my AIM screen name is edited...no personal info pleeze. please contact me by IMing me if you can.

i just installed the free version of 4.0.7 and everytime i try to get on it says:

Your save directory is not valid. It may have been deleted, you may not have permissions to write to it, or there may be another problem. Please choose a different directory.

...after that, i click on "OK" and it shows the window that pops up when you browse for something on your computer, only in the limewire skin. it automatically looks in LimeWire 4.0.7 and it shows nothing, even though when i look in my hard drive, everything is there. Please help me!

if there is nothing i can do about it, could i somehow "downgrade" to the most recent version i had before i downloaded 4.0.7?

please reply soon

Sorry I'm not a Windows person, I'm just passing thru. But go to your LW menu-Options-Saving & verify or reset your dwnld location (press apply if you have that option.) After doing this it should be ok! If not, wait for a pc Windows person to come along. After resetting your dwnld location it might even be wise to quit LW & re-open. I hope this has some positive affect toward a solution. Every once in a while you need to re-check your LW settings to make sure they're as they should be! (This is not necessarily due to LW itself.)

I'm just visiting this planet, I'm only passing thru!

Sorries again, I don't have Windows LW although I've been considering trying it out for a couple of weeks. By menu, I mean menu bar. Look for Options at the top of LW. (By the way I use the Mac version so it's a bit different!) Options is probably next to or near the 'File' or 'View' or 'Navigation' at the top of the LW prog window. Sorry I can't be more specific. (I'd prefer not to do a personal message.) Meanwhile a Windows expert will probably be along to fix your issue quicksmart anyway.

menu bar

tiff, I'm no expert but this is where you will find the settings you need.

On the menu bar go to Tools - Options - Save. This is where you can specify the dir. in which to save your files. Likewise the next entry (T - O - Share) for any that you want to make available.

If the options window doesn't show the Apply, OK, Close buttons, expand it with your mouse cursor (they should be at the bottom).

Hope this helps.

SamiScrotum is right just fallow what he says, but maybe you'd also want to make shure you have a shared folder, when you go in savings go browse, and than go back than forword again if it stays it' good. Another way to check is to find the way to the folder the address is in savings and than manually go there and check if the folder is there
