WMP suddenly doesn't work OK...I have searched and haven't been able to find the answer to this one. Windows Media Player was working fine. I installed Limewire, love it, but since then, audio will not play on WMP. Limewire player works fine. I am running Win 98 w/ a SoundMax soundcard. I don't understand. If I try to play a mp3 directly in WMP, then i get an error message saying that the audio device is in use by another app...even if it isn't (ie, Limewire is closed). Any advice? Should I reinstall WMP? Should I reinstall the audio driver? This is hugely inconvenient, because if a website is using wma/wmv files for streaming, then i get a pic with no sound. HELP PLEASE!?!?! |
go in tools, options, file types, and make shure that mp3 audio file has a checkmark beside it. also get the latest updates for windows media player. and maybe if this doesn't work get the latest WMP and install it on your computer. You might also consider getting programs which are made for mp3's like winamp. |
Maybe you downloaded a new type of file and WMP doesn't know it try to update WMP fully and try to download only file types you know ex. mp3 and other file types that is in the option menu... read the last reply the file types there are what WMP can play |
