PRO upgrade
 

I'm currently running 3.8.6 which I have re-installed since the computer went belly up a few weeks back. I've bookmarked the page needed to upgrade to the latest release, but when I click on download nothing happens other than the pop up for Download Accel.

It just never begins downloading - I've tried for several days now with the same results.

I've no idea when I purchased PRO - is this what happens when that 6mo free upgrade period is over?

Don't think it's been 6mo yet, then again, doesn't seem like more than 10 years since I graduated H.S. :D

Limewire must be purchased every six months then?

From my understanding, the quick answer to your question is "yes". But it's not a lot to pay considering its benefits & dividends you can potentially receive. I can assure you LW version 4 is even better & gets better all the time. I can't wait for LW 4.1 to be released. But I have been considering trying out the beta version. If you do upgrade to a new version, make sure you have the latest version of Java for your Operating System. LW runs on Java & many problems that arise can be attributed to Java not being up to date.

Oh perhaps I should have made the point, you only get free upgrades for 6 mths after you purchase pro. But after that 6 mth period, you can still use the version you have. But if you want the best of the newer versions after that, then yes you'd need to repurchase pro. To reiterate LW is constantly developing & improving. It has come a long way in just the past 2-3 years.
