Default Help! re: deleted files

I inadvertantly deleted files from the shared file library while in LimeWire. I would like to restore them but can't find them anywhere. I thought they might be in my recyle bin but they are not there. can someone please help me?

Oh oh! you want to be very very very careful before deleting any files from LW's Library window. Deletions are permanent.

The only way you might possiby retrieve them is thru a file retrieval utility such as norton utilities. There are some others. If you're really dead-serious about retreiving the files you've deleted, you should stop doing anything else on that hdd before you attempt to use a file retrieval utiltiy. Otherwise any new files will write over the skeletons of the previous files that were stored there thus reducing/cancelling any chance of retrieving such files.

coral,

Lord Of The Rings is correct. I can recommend a free recovery tool that saved my beans when I accidently deleted pictures of my grandaughters graduation.

Go here to get a free copy - http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/PC-In...ml?tag=lst-0-2

And as LOTR said do it right away. Every file you write could be writing on top of the files you want to recover.

thanks for your replies. it was too late this time but i downloaded the software for future use. also, it is good to know that deletions in LW are permanent and now will be much more careful.
thanks again
