Problem deleting files. Have read other posts.

WinXP SP1
LimeWire client 4.0.8
Cable 750K
EM: Cannot delete "filename": It is currently being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again.

Same problem as some previous posts but the solutions are not working. I have Spywareblaster installed, run full scans with Sypbot, Adaware, AVG Free edition and Trend Micro's Housecall but have found nothing suspicious.
Rebooted, LimeWire was not running and I terminated the Windows Media Player process "mspmspsv.exe" but still got the same error message when trying to delete the files. There were no other processes or applications running that are associated with P2P or media applications. I had also stopped all internet traffic with Kerio firewall.
I disconnected the modem and booted to safe mode, logged on as the administrator, LimeWire was not running and I confirmed there were no problematic processes but had the same problem deleting the files.

When the first of these files came through I solved the problem by right clicking on the file and selecting
Properties> Advanced>
Then removing the check from "For fast searching, allow Indexing Service to index this file". Unfortunately this has not worked with subsequent files.

One symptom I have noticed appears very similar to running out of RAM. After trying to delete or open the properties on any of these files the PC appears to slow down; Explorer windows open slowly, often with the flashlight icon; Right click panes open blank at first; programs either slow down or stop responding.
However, I ran a memory checker "Cacheman" and monitored the memory use as I ran through the same procedures but it never dropped below 142Mb free.
Any suggestions?

I downloaded "delinvfile" following a link on that page and have deleted all those files. Since then I have had no problems at all. This is a very useful little application, thanks very much.
