Does not start

Hi!
I have downloaded Limewire on my machine running Windows 98 with 64 MB RAM.It has 9.54 GB hard disk with 1.02 GB free space.I suppose that the LimeWire installation was complete because everything was downloaded and I got an icon on desktop as well as LimeWire folder in my start-up menu. I was connected to the net .I tried to connect to Limewire by double- clicking the icon but it would not start. Then I double- clicked the tag in the start-up menu.It still would not start.
I have tried many times but it won't work.If I just double-clicked on the icon and didn't wait for long enough for it to initialize and clicked another application; is it possible that it won't start at all.Because after double-clicking , and waiting for a few seconds, I would click another application.
If I click the LimeWireWin.exe ,it asks me wheteher I want to modify ,or remove or reinstall. When I searched for the LimeWire1.6D the Windows Explorer showed only a shortcut. The folder was empty except for the shortcut. The target of the shortcut was C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\javaw.exe -cp . RunLime. On serching the said folder , I found an 24 Kb exe- jawaw.exe and no exe was found bearing the complete name showed by the shortcut as target .Besides, there were other folders containing the same file including the folder which I had named for storing of the files of LimeWire. On trying to replace the target with jawaw.exe in the folder marked by me it gave an error that the name is not correct and to check the filename and pathname but the file does exist.I have explained the problem as best as I could and please help.
Thanks

I am not sure exactly what your problem is but just for your information: Limewire is simply a java "source code " that needs an actual java program to run called javaw.exe. As in: "C:\WINDOWS\javaw.exe -cp . RunLime". So for your shortcut to the limewire program you need the previous quote in "target" window, and the following in the "start in" window: "C:\Program Files\LimeWire 1.6d"

Several people have had this same startup problem. As of this posting, I don't know of any way to remedy this. Sorry.
