teething troubles?

Hi people. I recently downloaded Limewire 4.2.2 and there are one or two things going on which I'm sure are not part of the plan! Biggest bug is that my monitor has suddenly started going blank (co-incidence?) momentarily, and at times stays blank and necessitates pulling the mains cable and re-connecting. Not good for the monitor I'm sure. The other thing is Limewire's mp3 player has yet to play a track without drop outs. By this I mean that the track stops (again momentarily) and then resumes. It doesn't happen in Windows Media Player. I have noticed from other posts that Limewire's player is not highly rated. Anyone else had similar problems? Btw, I'm new to all this as if you didn't guess!

OK, so I've sorted the monitor thing, and it appears it was coincidence. Still need help on the player thing though.

Please keep all your posts to one problem in the one thread. Press the Reply button not the new thread button.

If LW's media player is giving you problems. Then probably best to stick to your default player. Just go to LW's menu Tools>Options>Player & untick LW's media player. Now your default player will open instead when you launch a song.

Thanks. I knew that but some mp3s won't play in WMP - something to do with codecs?

I would never use the Limewire player as the default player.

Additional codecs are only needed for videos. Try Winamp:

http://www.winamp.com/player/

If Winamp or an other MP3 player isnīt able to play these MP3s, they might be corrupt.
