iTunes.

I'm new to LimeWire and iTunes, but I was wondering since I'm downloading music off of LimeWire it goes into a different folder other than my iTunes 'Library'. The folder that my LimeWire music is put into is called "Owner's LimeWire Tunes". I was wondering if it would be possible to move these music files into my Library so I can update my iPod with my songs downloaded from LimeWire? The OS I use is Windows XP Home.

To my knowledge the win version LW has not adopted the same process as MAC OSX where the iTunes has the ability to automatically import all mp3's that LW has dwnlded. Therefore you'd need to import them manually into iTunes. If you're not sure how to do that just ask. For iPod as soon as you connect it to your comp, your iPod should update with iTunes playists.

The songs will download from LimeWire into iTunes automatically, it's just that the songs from LimeWire are put into a playlist called "Owner's LimeWire Tunes", so whenever I try to put the songs into a folder so that I can Import them into my Library it won't allow it. So the songs are all stuck in the folder I specified above...If you know of another way, please let me know how to put the songs into my library.

iTunes help.

I have iTunes and I also have the latest version of LimeWire basic. I can download everything and they will all go into iTunes fine. It's just that the songs are put into a different location than my library. They are put into a location called "Owner's LimeWire Tunes". It has an option to "Disconnect Owner's LimeWire Tunes" just like the iPod does. My question is, how do I move those songs into my library? I've tried everything I know how and nothing seems to work. My OS is Windows XP Home.

PS When I copy a CD to my computer it will automatically go into my library but whenever I download off LimeWire the files go into the folder I specified above.

Any help is appreciated.

I haven't as yet tried out the new LW 4.2.3 on windows (though I had heard it had xtra iTunes support.) But on Mac OSX the tunes are imported into BOTH the main library 'Library' & a playlist called 'Limewire'. You can drag & drop a tune from one playlist to another. I'd presume it'd be the same on windows. (By the way I use windows on a program called Virtual PC so it's not exactly equivalent & besides it works as fast as a snail with constipation.)

Sorry I wasn't of more help to you. You obviously want somebody else to help you which is why you reposted the original post. Good luck! Apple's windows iTunes & iPod turorialApple's windows iTunes & iPod turorial Goodbye & good luck. As I said I haven't got around to checking the new win LW out 'yet'.

Well I reposted because I could'nt find my other post...but thanks for the help anyways, it's appreciated.

I'll also add that whenever I close LW, the option in iTunes titled " Owner's LimeWire Tunes" also closes. I don't know why it closes along with LW.

Global Mutiny,

LimeWire is shown in iTunes because it is sharing itself as a playlist. It's not actually adding the files into iTunes -- iTunes just recognizes that there's a shared library (shared by LimeWire) and displays it. That's why you can disconnect, etc...

We haven't yet added a feature to import files into iTunes itself on Windows. That will be there at some point, though...

You can manually do this by highlighting the files or folder in the library in LimeWire and dragging them into iTunes. They'll be copied into iTunes itself.
