Question Updating to Pro version while downloading

I am currently downloading a movie, which is taking forever, I also want to upgrade to the Pro version, can I do this while I am downloading a movie or will I loose the hours I have put into this project. The movie is at 36% so I don't want to start over. Thanks for your advise. Please help me make this work faster?

if you quit, the download will attempt to restart when you start up again, and a pro install doesn't normally affect your preferences and incomplete downloads.

Still, you may lose your place in queues, and sounds like there aren't many sources for your file, so perhaps you're better just waiting (especially if the host is just a weekend file-sharer).

If you do decide to take a moment (it only takes 5 minutes) to install Pro, all should resume as before and you probably won't notice much difference. Your download might even be faster, since Pro tries to find more sources. Just repeat the search again once your Pro has connected.

Question Questions about Pro

Is it true that you have to pay for the Pro version every six months and if you don't you loose it and have to go back to the free version? I thought that there was only a one time purchase for Pro but I have read in the forum that you must pay every six months in order to keep it, is that true

yes. . . . sort of
The pro will keep working, but if you want to update it, after 6 months of downloading Pro Updates you would need to get a new Pro page. To see how much work has gone into LW, check out the past history http://www.limewire.com/english/cont..._history.shtml

btw--my later Pros got a discount. Anyway, I figure even without the discount Pro was a good reminder to keep donating to the project.

Don't get Pro if you expect dramatic differences. IMHO, thinking of it as a donation is much more satisfying.

cheers
