LimeWire shuts itself down

I have version 1.6d running on Win98. After launching the application, it closes itself after anywhere between 5 seconds and 10 minutes. Anyone have any suggestions?

New.net, a spyware application that is hidden in many installations, can cause this behavior. In Add/Remove Programs, look for new.net. If it is there, uninstall it. Then see if LimeWire works. :-)
