Preview incomplete file with internal player then play completed file with iTunes?

I'd like to use to use the internal Limewire player to play my incompleted files because iTunes stores library data whenever a file is played, and I'd then like to use iTunes to play completed files.

Is this possible, or is it an either/or situation?

Thanks.

It is possible. But you'd need to have your wits about you. It would mean changing your options settings on a regular basis. If you preview a file then LW's media player would play it. But after it's dwnlded, you'd need to change your options so iTunes would play it (or better still, import the file into iTunes library using the Add option directed at the LW dwnld folder.) The following image also shows burn prefs which doesn't apply to you. After every change in the options you'd need to press the Apply button!!! Which in itself seems more practical if you import all your mp3's into iTunes rather than continually change your options settings. It seems I can't preview completed or incomplete files in either application.

I get an error message about Limewire referencing a memory error at some address. How can I fix this?

It's not just iTunes, I get that even when I preview with the inbuilt player.
