LimeWire Pro Completely Malware free? I'm interested in buying Limewire pro, and I wanna know from the people who use it if it's truly adware, spyware, nagware, malware, trojan, virus, whatever free? Because I don't wanna spend $20 to screw up my comp. I currently have v. 4.0.8, which did come with trace amounts of spyware. Feedback is appreciated. Thanks. |
Which spyware/adaware app did yo use to detect that? I'm aware of at least one that doesn't work properly! It find them in apps & places where no other does, why b/c it doesn't work correctly & gives you a false sense of security or bother. Apparently LW did have some traces that were removed in late version 3 or early 4 I can't remember. Perhaps you see here in LW's version history: http://www.limewire.com/english/cont..._history.shtml The Pro version doesn't have the update to pro window when you 1st open LW. |
this was a while ago, I used ad-aware, as well as spybot. I can't pinpoint it exactly as being LW, but I'm pretty sure it was since I wasn't having any problems before it, but I could be wrong. So pro is definatly free of spy/adware? |
Yep! It's fine. |
