Default Starts, but no window appears

I can start limewire and the message about switching to Limewire Pro pops up and I click the "later" button as usual. But now, not only does the Pro window appear in the upper left-hand corner (and not in the middle of the screen like before) Limewire will not show up. The button is in the task bar at the bottom, but the Limewire window itself doesn't show up.

*My virus scanner found viruses in some of the Java files on my laptop so it deleted them. I went to www.java.com and redownloaded the latest Java platform. No luck. Limewire still will not load correctly.

*Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I miss my Limewire!

Try these things one by one until hopefuly one of them works:

1. Repair LimeWire using the Add/Remove Programs utility. Go to Control Panel then Add/Remove Programs & click on Limewire on the Change/Remove button & it comes up with options and one of them is Repair. Try this.

2. Right-clicking the Limewire icon and going to properties and changed compatability setting to Windows 2000.

3. Update your Java version 1.5 (take the JRE)

4. Right-click on the Limewire icon on the desktop and click on Run as. Then it should come up showing the current user and then switch it over to Administrator.

5. Delete the LW Preferences folder called .limewire (whilst LW is closed!) found here: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire

Thank you so much! I think what fixed it is a combination of deleting the .limewire file and changing the user to administrator.

Thanks again!
