Help! Limewire and aol causing problems

I need help!!!

I have searched the forum for answers and have carried out all the suggestions i have come across for problems similar to mine but still cant solve it.

I am using Windows xp with sp2, aol 9, nortons security and lw basic.

This is what happens...
after about 30 mins on lw, i lose my internet connection, i can then only close down aol with alt, control, delete. I cant restart aol without restarting my computer. when comp is shutting down i get loads of "end task" commands (usually aol) and windows freezes when it gets to "saving your setting screen" so i have to push restart button.
During scan disc on start up, sometimes some files need to be truncated, usually aol files, occasionally ccApp files and even more occasionally others but screen is not up long enough for me to read them.
When i try to restart aol, it sometimes has to re-search for the modem.

Once this is done aol works fine until i try to use limewire.

I have deleted .limewire file and stopped auto connect, removed loads of rubbish that came with aol, repaired limewire, updated java (RE 5 upgrade 1), as far as i know i am not using aols firewall and nortons is configured to allow limewire.

What else can i try????

I am having the exact same problem, although it only takes about 5 minutes, from turning on limewire to aol crashing for me. Can someone please help us?

Thanks

wow that must really suck nobodys giving you guys help...

well go into aol browser and click on internet options and select your main connection (the one aol connects through is the one you want) copy the proxy address and go into limewire goto tools options and down click advanced. Select proxy. Now select the socks v4 or v5 option and paste your proxy adrress. now go back to aol and copy down your port. past it into limewire. now where the username and password thing is... enable authentication and type in your aol username and password.. click apply.. then okay.. exit aol.. connect limewire :D hoorah for the piraters ...
