Try to make your post descriptive, specific, and clear so members can quickly and efficiently help you. To aid helpers in solving download/upload problems, LimeWire and Frostwire users must specify whether they are downloading a torrent file or a file from the Gnutella network. Members need to supply these details >>> System details - help us to help you (click on blue link) Moderators There are senior members on the forums who serve as Moderators. These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit or used for commercial advertising. Commercial weblinks cannot be used under any circumstances and will result in an immediate ban. 13. Dual accounts are not allowed. Cannot explain this more simply. Attempts to set up dual accounts will most likely result in a banning of all forum accounts. 14. Video links may only be posted after you have a tally of two forum posts. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues.  latest limewire 5.3.6 (java download will not unpack error 255099) Ok so there I was able and willing to upgrade to Limewire5.3.6 , then it all went wrong there is a known problem with the latest sun java jre6/16. it will for some reason not install itself, OK so there are suggestions at java but they do not work (or answer queries!!! arrogance perhaps?). as it is a requirement that you have this particular java it means that currently I have no contact with Limewire. (the java download will not unpack error 255099) so jsut a warning that the upgrade may not bre as straight forweard as usual (I have spent over 3 hours trying to sort out problem (and I am far from a computer geek!!). Are this network aware of this problem? Perhaps they have more clout with Sun to get them to sort out their problems??   Anyone else had this problem??? Dave  |

| Always offline installations of Java are more reliable than the online installations .. which they unfortunately recommend. Offline installation is where you download the installer with all contents inside the installer. The online installer is where you download the basic installer program, then it makes calls out to the java site to download the contents of the installation. This online installation frequently results in problems with installations; incomplete/corrupt installations, data not reaching the installer in time or corrupt date across the internet. | latest limewire 5.3.6 Lord of the Rings. Thanks for your observations re my problems with Java. I was hoping that someone , who like me was uograding to 5.3.6 had expeinced my problem and found an answer. I appreciate you comments re installation of Java , but feel that those internet companies such as Gruntella(Limewire) would have some control over those providing a system with which their customers were experiencing unnecessary difficulties. Java themselves seem to ignore e mails on the subject. My problem still exists, I cannot make use of Limewire system with which has itself always been a reliable system which is a great shame. I have tried to get help from Sun(java) could it be that with your exalted title (presumably your not based in New Zealand?) you have influence over and above of us mere mortals with the mighty Sun and give the required part of their anatomy a sound kicking. In other words I still seeking some magical aid. cordially David  |

| Which operating system do you have & is it a 32 or 64 bit operating system & machine? It's my guess at least this is part of the problem. I'm guessing you need either specifically the 32 or 64 bit java or even both installed. A google finds the error message for Linux (ubuntu.) |

| limewire5.3.6 Good afternoon, Once again thanks for responding to my post. I am operating windows XP which is 32 bit. As far as I am aware I am downloading the 32 bit upgrade. I originally downloaded from "file Hippo" have tried other sources with the same problem as I have outlined. Obviously there is some reason it will not unpack the installer, and back tracks, I cannot find any old java. I don't know wether this is anything to do with it but I seem to recall that the java emblem went missing from control panel listings a week or so ago. I have also tried it without firewall. V frustrated . cordially dave |

| latest limewire-java Many thanks for your advice and for responding so quickly to my please for help. I am delighted to advise that the problem with downloading the necessary java is has been resolved. I did follow through with your suggestions, However the problem with installing Java was resolved with a laughably simple idea. I pass it on for what its worth, That is to change the file to which the Java is to be installed. There is a tick box allowing you to change prior to installation. I changed the file to new java and weyhay in it went no problem. It beggars belief that such a simple remedy is apparently either not known or ignored by those responsible at Sun(java), I now understand that this 25099 error has been ongoing for a long time. However I really would like to thank you for your kindly and helpful advice, we lesser geeks do rely on your expertise, cordially david |
