Java TM 2 Runtime Download Problem

I am trying to download the Java TM 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition, v. 1.3.1 and the window just sits at 0% and doesn't do anything. An information box eventually pops up that says: Java Runtime Environment download cancelled. LimeWire will now exit the installation. What is going on??

Download Java 2 JRE seperately from:

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre/

After installing this, run the LimeWire installation. LimeWire should finish installing since it doesn't need to worry about Java 2 for you. :-)

Installed Java2TM, Limewire still not installing

OK, I've been reading this thread, and installed the Java2TM, then tried to remove and reinstall Limewire. It still states that I have no Java2
and tries to download it, but fails. Next, I tried installing Limewire right into the Java2 folder. Limewire acted like it installed all right, but wouldn't open. hehehe
What a wicked little stumbling block!

yeps, i have same problems, after picking it up from http://java.sun.com/ i managed to install it, but it didin't run. I cheked the folder and there was only a icon!!! The link is C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\javaw.exe -cp . RunLime
Weird? huh!!! There are serious problems here, cuz bearshare works al right!

If LimeWire is not opening, go here:

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...&threadid=2905

There is no "limewire.exe" file to launch LimeWire. LimeWire is a java based program, and has to run within a Java Run Time Environment. This is what javaw.exe is.

Your shortcut taget should look like this:

C:\WINDOWS\javaw.exe -cp . RunLime

NOT

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\javaw.exe -cp . RunLime

Limewire Install Wizard Bugged

Face the facts TruStar! The Limewire update installation wizard is useless. Actually TruStar, unless you're one of those programmers, then I have a lot of compassion for you, having to face such a quantity of problems. I did manage to find a link to another download that used the "Install Anywhere" installation wizard, and it worked much better. You do have to download the Java2TM first though. However, Limewire will not connect. The servers, for all of Limewire, seem to be out. Even the website is down. Will try to find the link to that "Anywhere Installation Wizard" and place it in the next post.

Virgon tour 1st timer

Windows XP, Limewire 14.12.1, DSL. I have been a Limewire customer for 4 years. I recently lost my hard drive and cannot get any information off of the old hard drive. When I go to limewire to find my User ID, they say cannot find one set up. Someone please tell me what I need to know how to get back my Limewire.
