Ripped off by Limewire again

Hi. I tried to get an update. And found that miraculously, my account doesn't exist. No explanation.

When I contacted LimeWire and gave my name, etc, have not heard ONE thing back.

I am pretty sure that I signed up for long enough that my account would still be active. According to LimeWire, not ONE of the e-mail addresses I have been using for the last couple of years exists in their records, though they didn't take the care to erase my e-mail address and user forum identity, but they DID make sure that all posts I have done previously have been deleted.

I understand human greed, and that it is far more profitable to just erase all record of people who have paid in advance for the best version of the product and future upgrades, but I can't allow it to slide by without comment.

I want to know what happened to my account, and why
A) I can't acess it
B) They do not acknowledge that it has ever existed
C) They refuse to reply to my submitted form for recovering my account info

You only get 6 months of free updates, if it's 6 months and one day you have to pay up again to get LimeWire PRO. LimeWire Basic is free.

(if you bought LimeWire on any other site than www.limewire.com you have been ripped off indeed, - but not by LimeWire)

Were you ripped off?

Dear Dimetrodon

Where did you buy LW from?

If you did not buy LW Pro directly from LW, like I did, then you were ripped off by one of the many scam sites set up to rip off new and inexperienced users.

Please note. if you did flush you money down the drain by dealing with a scam site then don't feel too bad because, if you check this forum, you will find that you are one of the many unfortunates to do so.

Also note, scam sites are nothing to do with Limewire or any P2P product. Scam sites are the camouflaged predators of the internet.
