avi files

When I downloaded an avi file and tried to play it on Windows Media Player it only played the audio, how do I get it to play the video feed also.

Download some xtra codecs: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html

Or try an alternative player like divX player or else VLC (which has inbuilt codecs & is free): http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose any mirror site.)
