burning avi files to play in DVD player/tv?

I have just downloaded a movie which is an avi file - I buned it to a DVD and can watch it on my computer no problem, yet, it won't load on m my dvd player so I can watch it on the TV. What do I need to do so that I can burn it to DVD and then watch it on the tv?

Might want to check out this link it may help:http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=32953

Also if you are burning in .avi format I think you may need to convert it to mpg2 that is standard dvd format.

How can I convert the avi file to jpeg?

JPEG files are pictures. AVI files are movies. I don't see any reason to convert a movie to a picture.

There are numerous applications out there that can do this. I have had good success with nero ultra or roxio. You can do a web search for these types programs. Everyone has there own personal likes and dislikes about the different types.
