trying to play a downloaded movie
 
some movies i download i can play and others show an unknown error message. does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this.

If it shows a licencing error then it's probably not worth bothering with & is probably a wmv file.

Sounds like it is a codec issue. Either get xtra codecs for your player or get a player with the codecs built in.

Xtra codecs: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html

Player with built-in codecs: VLC (choose the nearest mirror site) which plays everything except the odd wmv file & is free.

Else get DivX player.

thank you for ur help. i tried going to that link but didn't know where to go from there. didn't see a download button. but am trying another way of getting the same thing.
will the divx player play the movies that record now will not play.
