Editing a movie

I just d'loaded a movie which has about 15 mins of previews at the beginning.
Can somebody please recommend a free and SIMPLE TO USE program which I can use to edit these previews out.
(It will need instructions which are written in words of one syllable....lol)
TIA

I have no idea how good those are b/c I've never tried them. tmpg is supposed to be quite good.

If you want a free video editor you could try: Avid Free: http://www.avid.com/freedv/index.asp?dm=whatsNew
But the free version can only output to Quicktime movie. More details: http://www.avid.com/freedv/features.asp

But this is a little different to what you are after.
