upload problems? How would I know???

Hello there ppl,

I've been mooching around reading about configuring LW and read somewhere about upload probs. Can't remember who wrote it or what the answer was (I think Murasame answered it by advising they started another thread)

I'd just like to know if I was having upload problems how I would know? Dunno why, just figure I should get as much info as poss about everything and this may help.

Many thanks, Lindy;)

In LW you can go to the monitor screen. There you can see the users u/l from your shared folder if there are any. It wil also show what there u/l speed is.

If you are sharing and there are no u/p going for an extended amount of time you may have a problem.

In LW you may also go to 1)tools 2)options 3)uploads and see how your uploads are configured.

Thanks Fabion,

I've just went on the monitor screen, there's nothing there at all.

I did the bug report and it said true where it was supposed to.

I've configured my uploads the way Murasame's post said to the best of my ability.

You'll never guess what I've done after the bug test though. So I'm gonna tell you.

I only went and clicked restore defaults.

What a loon I am maybe I should change my name to Lindyloon. Just aswell I've got my B/F's LW configured to the same as mine on his desktop.

Regards, Lindy x

I'm not sure what type of files you are sharing. It might just be that they're not that popular.

You can also go to your Library screen and see how many folders are there. should be at least 3. Saved files, incomplete files, and the folder that is being shared.

You can always go to 1)tools 2)options 3) sharing 4)add.
And add any folders you would like to share.:)

What do you mean my files may not be popular? Hmmmfff....lol.

I've just restored my settings to the way I had them.
On the monitor screen I hadn't clicked show incoming searches (maybe this won't matter I would still see if ppl were uploading) anyway someone just started and got to14% then transfer was interrupted.

In library I've got the 3 files you talk about and another 2 (must sort them out though :) )

When I clicked to show incoming searches a window popped up saying:-

My client is a leaf node shielded by an ultrapeer. Hence you will see few or no searches in the monitor window. Do you have any idea what that's about,

Thanks heaps, Lindy x:)

Hello there,

I've just went and had a looksee at my monitor again it seems ppl are interested in my files but aren't having much luck getting them :(

Out of 11 ppl there's one active
The rest have:-

upload limit reached
Transfer interrupted
Complete (1 at 14% the other 21%) is this cos they stopped trying.

Thanks, Lindy :)

ooops didn't mean it like that. I have one folder of books and articles pretty boring unless your into stuff like. I get very few u/l from that folder. I might have maybe 3 or 4 total so far.

My client as a leaf node. Is how you are connected to the G network. Your connected as a leaf shielded by an Ultrapeer.
What you see in this screen I believe are the searches filtering through your connection. You just possibly could be shielded by me, as I am connected as an Ultrapeer right now and have 32 peers and 30 leaves.

As to your second question I will let someone with more knowledge help with that.

Note to self, and anyone else who's looking :D :D :D

I've had a good looksee at different posts and have come up with some really good stuff.
While searching for Transfer interrupted I came accross some gems.
Not sure if my problem is the same but I'm gonna keep on looking.

Ppl are able to download from me but I've had more hits than uploads. But as I read, it could be because I'm behind a firewall.

I'm glad I came on the forum for advice but my search button has started to hide from me cos it's totally worn out :D:D :D

Lindy :)
