Unable to Delete Files From Library

Hi

While tidying up the Library I came across a number of files that stubbornly won't go (nothing the wife can hold against me mercifully).

I have removed them from the shared folder, done a search on the hard disc and removed any trace of them, but they still refuse to budge from LW.

I get an error message "Unable to delete, file may be in use by another application blah blah.

I have fecently installed Realplayer for my avi's as my default instead of Winamp. Could this be the problem? Or am I just ballsing it up.

I have searched the forum and found no answers,

Am running 1.7 centrino with 512 ram,

Any help would be appreciated.

From what I can think of this could be for either of 2 reasons. 1. The file in your library is being shared & uploaded to somebody. 2. One of your applications has used it & is still within its grasp of control even if it's not presently playing.

Answer is to quit all applications & then try to delete the file. If this doesn't work, then it must be in the process of being uploaded. You'd need to quit LW. In that case you could delete it manually or delete it immediately after you re-open LW & the shared files have loaded.

At the very worst, if nothing above works then manually delete it after restarting computer or restarting using a startup disk.
