How do I change video card settings

So my limewire worked for a few days then my computer rebooted itself and I haven't been able to get my limewire to work every since. I have read all the suggestions and tried several of them. I am thinking that maybe it's my video card but I am not sure how to check it.
Please help. I am very frustrated.

In WindowsXP --- Start>contol panel>system>hardware>device manager>display adapters ---- This should list your display adapater (video card)

Highlight the video card --- single right mouse click --- properties --highlight and left mouse click. click on the driver tab ---- this will list your driver information

You can make adjustments to the display by moving the mouse pointer to any blank/empty space on the desktop ---right click --- This will open a window ---- go to the settings tab and click ---- go to the advanced button and click --- This should open another window, which should allow you to make adjustments to the display.
